El Food Two is not so sure. But none of that matters, what really matters is, what is the word on the B.Eat Street? The word is food, lots of food, and a side helping of beverages to wash it down with.
All through June we’ve been celebrating the greatest food format, the Burger, with Laying The Beef To Rest.
Through no forward planning of our own, its happened that the end of June, coincides with the 4th Of July celebrations by our brothers across the pond.
So here is our tribute to Uncle Sam’s greatest creation.
Its the final ‘cow-down’ for Laying The Beef To Rest.
Solita, McDonalds and Burger King, Byron and Almost Famous have all been appraised, and now its time to get down and dirty. Step up to the chopping board, ‘Filthy Cow‘ but maybe wipe your feet first, we don’t like things too dirty.
The El Food Brothers have hit up some big names for Laying The Beef To Rest. Solita, McDonalds and Burger King, Byron. But only one claims to be ‘Almost Famous‘
A better description may be ‘Quite Infamous’. Everyone has heard of this place. Those who have been claim ‘its the best burgers you’ll ever have’, ‘it’ll knock your socks off’ and other such hyperbole. Those who haven’t been either long to go, or dismiss the place as over hyped.
The third instalment of Laying The Beef To Rest sees us hitting another chain restaurant. Which we found out has at least 53 locations in the UK, as originally there was meant to be 52, with each assigned a playing card.
We visited the 10 of Diamonds, otherwise known as the Piccadilly Gardens branch of Byron.

Laying The Beef To Rest continues with a visit to 2 well know burger franchises. If you haven’t guessed it yet, its the Joker (McDonalds) vs The King (Burger King) in a battle of the cheeseburgers.
We managed to do both of these on the same day, so both were judged mere minutes of each other, as they are now handily situated across from each other in Piccadilly Gardens.

Situated at the heart of the Manchester’s Northern Quarter, and at least partially responsible for the areas burger obbession. Solita have 13 burger options, including their playful take on a rival burger joints signature burger, ‘The Big Manc’. However its the ‘Solita Burger’ that meets our criteria, so the review is purely based on this.

The burger has literally been ‘done to death’ so the El Food Brothers are having a final send off for the humble, hand held treat. Its time to sort the patty from the bun, and crown the best burger in Manchester. Then the burgers can finally rest in grease, and we can all move on to the next big thing (butter milk chicken anyone?)

In the month of April we lost over 2 stone and Prince (loads of other people but I like Prince) one of these facts I am happy about (it’s the weight loss).
In a homage to his Purpleness I have done a piece on our journey on the 5:2 diet using his work as inspiration (and yes Prince did write it and perform it so take your Sinead O’Connor and fuck off)
Anyway here we go, trying my hand at creativity once more.
